YOU’RE UNDER CONTRACT
All of human life is either run and/or effected by contract law, its effects are omnipresent. Men, willfully ignoring reality, strive to “re-create” life into a virtual reality. They attempt to advance the cause of humanity to levels of god-likeness over their destinies. They seek to achieve a Utopian Never-Never-Land of their own making. Like bad loopholing-lawyers, they ignore the contracts written by the finger of God over the destiny of humanity!
This excelsior striving of humanity is a vain attempt to blind themselves to the eternal truths presented to them by God in their hearts, and as seen by what has been created by Him. For God's wrath is being revealed from heaven against all the ungodliness and wickedness of those who in their wickedness suppress the truth. For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God himself has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world his invisible attributes—his eternal power and divine nature—have been understood and observed by what he made, so that people are without excuse. For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him. Instead, their thoughts turned to worthless things, and their ignorant hearts were darkened. Though claiming to be wise, they became fools….Romans 1:18-22
For every contractual decree given from Heaven, there are contrary contractual counterfeits being pushed in a competitive tug of war over men’s souls. What you believe is really not based so much on facts and evidence as it is by what contract your life operates under. For the Jew, if faithful, that contract would be the Torah, (Old Testament). For the true Christian the contract is both the Old Testament and the New Testament. I say this because the New Testament is the fulfilling of the Old Testament. The word testament is synonymous with the words covenant and contract. For the Jew and the true Christian this understanding is at the core of their relationship with God. They both have accepted an offer from God, and in faith have entered a contract with Him believing He will fulfill His end of the agreement, IF we fulfill our end.
As previously stated, there are counterfeit contracts to God’s contracts. Satan, you might say, is the originator of counterfeit or competing contracts. He presently is also under contract to God, from whence he is referred to as the prince of this world in the Bible. As such, the Bible instructs us to respect him, regardless of his reputation. In a similar way, these dreamers also defile their flesh, reject the Lord's authority, and slander his glorious beings. Even the archangel Michael, when he argued with the devil and fought over the body of Moses, did not dare to bring a slanderous accusation against him but said, “May the Lord rebuke you!” Jude 1:8-9.
As stated earlier, everyone is under contract, and as such your life is the fulfillment of one contract or another. Your choices in life, your manifested desires, WHAT YOU DO every day all day, and without exception, determines, and reveals, which contract you are under, and whom you are serving. This is why Jesus told us that we would know them by their fruit.
Regardless of your beliefs, everyone should determine, rather than assume, what contract they are under. For many of us this is an everyday, moment-by-moment way of life, but for many more they live lives of complete ignorance of their subjugation under contract. To determine which contract you are under you must go to the universal book of law, the Bible. Please note that if you are not under God’s contract your contract is still subject to the rules of the Bible, everything, you, me and even Satan himself are subject to what is found there. These are the parameters established by the Creator of everything, nobody can, or is able, to go beyond the limits set by God.
To boil the contracts down to the essentials: God’s contract offers you eternal life with Him as citizens in His kingdom, the forgiveness of your sins, the renewing of your mind, the opening of your eyes and ears to truth, peace that transcends all understanding, the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, and God’s love, although this hardly covers all the contractual perks. In exchange you follow the requirements stipulated in the New Covenant, and agree to lay down your life, which includes your will and desires and become subject to King Jesus unfaltering in your faithfulness to Him until the end of your life or the end of the age, which ever comes first. God never breaks a contract, ever. If the contract is broken it will be on your part. There are conditions in the contract that allow you to repent in order to regain good standing in the contract.
Satan offers a contract as well. You might call it a counter proposal. The devil also took him to a high place and showed him all the kingdoms of the world in an instant. He said to Jesus, ”I will give you all this authority and the glory of these kingdoms. For it has been given to me, and I give it to anyone I please. So if you will worship me, all this will be yours.” But Jesus answered him, “It is written, ‘You must worship the Lord your God and serve only him.’” Luke 4:5-8
Now you probably have never worshiped Satan, but that does not exempt you from his contract. Those that take the offer need to obey Satan, and in return he does enrich his followers and give them power. Here is the little understood caveat to all of this: If you do not accept God’s contract you are automatically placed under Satan’s contractual authority, he is your prince. Because you do not willingly take Satan’s offer you will not likely “prosper” or enjoy “power” to the levels you would have had you taken it, you will be a second-class subject of his “kingdom”. You don’t have a say in the matter any more than a lump of clay could protest what the potter makes of it. For who can resist his will? On the contrary, who are you—mere man that you are—to talk back to God? Can an object that was molded say to the one who molded it, “Why did you make me like this?” A potter has the right to do what he wants to with his clay, doesn't he? He can make something for a special occasion or something for ordinary use from the same lump. Romans 9:19-21 You see, by not keeping God’s contract you automatically qualify for Satan’s. In essence, your disobedience to God is obedience to Satan! God’s contract is the only option out that has been made available.
All contracts are not subject to interpretation by the contracted. Their legalities are reserved for court interpretation, and as would seem obvious, no court would ever tell the King of kings what His own contracts mean. I say this because there are many who come partially under God’s contract and then try to re-interpret areas of it for their own benefit. These people, like everyone, will someday stand before the King’s judgment throne, where there are no loopholes to be found.
Satan’s principality over the world will come to an end, it is already foretold in the Bible. If you lived your life by your own interpretation of what is true, just and good you will be counted as those who were willingly bound under Satan’s contract. God is not a god of shades of gray, his truth is black and white, you must strictly adhere to everything in the contract or you will pay an eternal price, just remember, it was your choice.
And if it seem evil to you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom you will serve …. but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD. Joshua 24:15
